POSITIVO TALENT AWARD

1. REGULATIONS FOR PARTICIPATION
2. REGISTRATION AND PROJECT SUBMISSION
2.1. The registration and project submission period for the Positivo Talent Award in Educational Technology will be from 00:00 hours July 28 (twenty-eight) until 24:00 hours September 30 (thirty) 2008. The registration and projects that arrive after the established period will be automatically disqualified.
| The registration period for Positivo Talent Award has been extended until October 3rd, 2008. We will accept registrations sent by fax by 6pm on October 3, 2008. Registrations uploaded through our site www.talentopositivo.com.br, will be accepted until midnight on thesame date. |
2.2.The registration and project upload forms are available in Portuguese, English and Spanish exclusively on the Talento Positivo website: www.talentopositivo.com.br/english
2.3.The registration will only allow one teacher per project and teachers can only register for one project.
2.4. Group developed projects should be registered by only one teacher member of the team. Other collaborating teachers will be allowed to be mentioned.
2.4.1. Positivo Informática will award the Positivo Talent Award only to the teacher who registered his/her own project. And will not be responsible for the distribution of the prize among team members.
2.5. The educator(s) of the participating schools will be able to register provided they comply with the established under the above mentioned on section 1.2 of this Positivo Talent Regulations.
3.1.
The submitted project should describe an educational experience using at least one of Positivo Informática’s learning systems.
3.2.
The project description should be typed with Arial 12 font, 1.5 spacing between lines, A4 letter size and the letter format should contain:
• Curricular Content (developed content to reach the objectives);
• Methodology (how the project was developed - step by step);
• Evaluation (assessment of student's learning with the use of technology).
3.3. The project description MUST include:
• A cover page with: name of project, topic, school, state, city, teacher, email and phone number of the teacher, and students' grade.
• Project summary: description (10 lines maximum) informing the teaching level, Positivo Informática's technology used, content developed, results obtained from the project, and names of any other educator that participated in the project.
• An introduction with:
• Objectives: what the teacher searches for in developing this project;
• Justification: what were the motives in accomplishing this project with a defined theme?
• Development: a detailed and complete description of the entire project (including; all of the steps, strategies, statements, activities in the classroom and laboratory and, all the materials that were developed during the project)
• Conclusion: containing detailed analysis of the results obtained during the development of the project. The results should be in accordance to the proposed objectives, including an evaluation of the content studied.
• Photos: The project should have at least 5 (five) high resolution photos, illustrating the development of the project and the usage Positivo Informática's learning system(s)
• Testimonial: The teacher must write a descriptive statement about his/her experiences and students' observations while using Positivo Informática's learning system(s) and about the project in general.
• Attachments: The teacher should keep record and include copies of all activities developed with the students, such as material produced by the students, extras photos, newspapers, home page website and the entire student production during the project.
3.4. Only projects submitted online by September 30, 2008 will be accepted
3.5.
No exceptions to this deadline can be made. No excuses will be accepted, (including loss of connection, slow internet access, etc). Submissions not sent by the cut off date will be disqualified
4.1. All projects sent by the registered educator(s) will be assessed by the Judging Committee, formed by Positivo Informática's pedagogical team and educational professionals with PhD's connected to other institutions.
4.2. The projects submitted will be assessed and selected based in the following criteria:
• Presentation of all the cited topics in item 3.2 and 3.3 of the previous text;
• Pedagogical adaptation of the usage of the educational technology: including Alfabeto, E-Bocks English, E-Blocks Math, and/or E-Bocks Español);
• Accurate and clear description of teaching objectives, project development, and learning obtained;
• Relevance of content, integration to the school curriculum, age appropriateness and relevance to students;
• Clear evidence of students' involvement in the project through photos, videos or testimonials.
4.3. The three best projects will be classified.
4.4. The winning projects will be announced on October 30, 2008 on the Positivo Talent site www.talentopositivo.com.br/english.
4.5. Besides having your names announced on the site www.talentopositivo.com.br, winners will be contacted by e-mail, according to the contact information provided by that entrant
4.6. The educators that submit projects that do not conform to the guidelines of these Regulations will be disqualified.
5.1. Positivo Informática will present the following prizes to the three best projects:

5.2. Positivo Informática will also present prizes to the school where the finalist educators teach. The schools' prizes will be awarded following the finalist results.

5.3. Schools will be able to receive as many awards as they qualify for based on the number of teachers' projects that were chosen as finalists. Therefore, the same school can have more than one teacher awarded a prize.
6.1. It is the contestant's responsibility to obtain a written release or get permission to use and submit texts, photos and all the information about their project, not holding POSITIVO INFORMÁTICA responsible for violation of rights of the material or unsubstantial matter.
6.1.1. The teacher(s) will be responsible for the copy rights of the texts, images and other means that will accompany their project(s). In case images of identifiable students are used, over or under age, it will be necessary to obtain authorization from the student, and if the student is underage, from the parents or guardian.
6.2. Participation in the Positivo Talent Award in Educational Technology implies the implicit and unequivocal acceptance of the regulations.
6.3.
The winner(s) immediately authorize(s) POSITIVO INFORMÁTICA to broadcast their name, voice and photos to communicate the results of the Cultural Competition through general communication methods.
6.4.
Plagiarism and/or any law violation that comes to be known even after the conclusion of the awards, will be subjected to sanctions by law.



1.1. The Positivo Talent Award in Educational Technology is a cultural competition promoted by Positivo Informática, which aims to motivate, praise, and support quality educational experiences developed, planned and executed by educators educational technology solutions developed by Positivo Informática, including:
- Alfabeto;
- E-Blocks English;
- E-Blocks Math;
- E-Blocks Español;
1.2. Participation in Positivo Talent Award in Educational Technology is restricted to educators working in public or private institutions that have purchased Positivo Informática's learning systems from approved distributors around the world.
1.3. Contestants outside Brazil will be able to participate under Category 4. Rules for this category are established in this regulation.
1.4. Any project from any discipline that has already been done, that is currently in progress or that will be concluded in 2008 will be accepted.
