English is considered a world language and being able to speak is a must for the global citizen, especially in Mexico, a country that borders on the United States. With this concern in mind, Tania Ramirez’s school participated in the TESL project using the E-Blocks Learning Panels as a support tool.

The objective was to observe how this technological resource can influence the learning of English in three different classes of 5-year olds. After all, it is known that young kids have a greater ability to learn a foreign language, and it’s important to get the most out of this opportunity.

Tania understands that the innovative E-Blocks method is an important reinforcement resource for English classes because it motivates children to learn by doing. The activities also promote greater interaction among students.

During the process, parents were invited to come and see the new method. The 77 students worked regularly with the Learning Panel to learn to identify the 26 letters spoken in English, recognizing phonemes in the middle of words and increasing vocabulary.

The students were extremely motivated and made great progress in all of the skills evaluated. At the end of one year of work, 89% of the children were capable of recognizing letters in English, while 97% were able to recognize phonemes and 77% understood vocabulary. It’s important to mention that a test was given before using the methodology revealing that few students had a command of these skills.

According to the teacher, the excitement about the project helped in the socialization process of the children in addition to improving self-confidence.
